Gestational Diabetes Mellitus

Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is a condition that develops during pregnancy and results in high levels of sugar in the blood. GDM can have detrimental consequences to both mother and child. In the UK, up to 5% of pregnancies are affected by GDM. However, the global incidence of GDM is predicted to be much higher. In 2019, the International Diabetes Federation estimated that 15.8% of live births to mothers complicated by high blood glucose, of these, 83.8% were due to GDM.
The aim of these resources are to education on the development, diagnosis and treatment of GDM.
