Gestational Diabetes Mellitus

In the UK, up to 5% of pregnancies are affected by GDM. However, the global incidence of GDM is predicted to be much higher. In 2019, the International Diabetes Federation estimated that 15.8% of live births to mothers complicated by high blood glucose, of these, 83.8% were due to GDM.
